Explore like a local — guided by locals.

Overview

A travel platform where locals are the guides.

Design a mobile app that helps address a problem in people’s daily lives. During user interviews and research, we discovered that travelers relied on various means of discovering authentic local venues — such as social media or word of mouth — when exploring new destinations. These methods provide only limited insight into the full range of possibilities.

We solve this by providing a platform for local residents to act as guides and recommend venues and itineraries — exposing travelers to establishments that don’t have a large advertising budget or might get buried on social media and recommendation sites.

Process

A two-week sprint: interviews to wireframes.

The full UX process ran in Miro and Figma: user interviews, personas, task-flow diagrams, site map and wireframes, through to typography, color palette and components.
